We understand that hiring the right painting company can sometimes be overwhelming. We thought that it would be helpful for you to better understand how we handle interior painting from start to finish. Take a look at 605 Painting’s interior painting process:
Step 1 – Color Selection
Before we start any painting project, you have to choose your color. If you would like to replicate a color already on your wall, you can use an old can of paint for reference, or you can take a chip to the paint store. We can help you identify the color, the finish, and type of paint when we meet with you for your FREE quote if you need help coming to a decision. Once you have selected your color we can then begin ordering the proper paint needed for your painting project.
Step 2 – Protect the Area
When it is time to start the project we cover the furniture and floors with a new, clean piece of protective plastic sheeting. We also protect your floors with drop cloths, taking care to secure every inch of the room. We also use painter’s tape to make sure any connected surfaces that aren’t supposed to be painted stay clean.
Step 3 – Prepare Surfaces
Our painting crew prepares the walls for interior painting by filling any holes or cracks in ceilings and walls, sealing any stains, and sanding any uneven surfaces, including loose or old paint. This creates the smooth, clean canvas necessary for a perfect finish.
Step 4 – Apply New Paint
After any areas repaired in the previous step are primed, we apply premium quality paints for a uniform finish (feel free to check out our preferred painting partners to learn more about where we purchase our products from). There are multiple finish options, including flat, matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss, and we will have gone over the benefits of each with you beforehand so you can make an informed decision. The time will vary depending on the size of the job, but we will always ensure to work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Step 5 – Clean Up
The paint will dry within a few hours, and you do not need to vacate the house while this is happening. Our crew removes all the painting materials and coverings. We sweep your floors and carpets and put everything back exactly where we found it while paying close attention to doing a thorough job cleaning the work area.
Step 6 – Walk Through
After our own inspection, we will walk you through the space, giving you the opportunity to review our work and to provide any initial feedback. Our paint jobs are designed to last for years on a properly maintained surface, so you will get to enjoy your beautiful newly painted room for years to come.
